From NICU Nurse to Real Estate Agent: My Journey into a New Career
I recently had the chance to sit down with Andrew and Jen Gallegos from Headed Home Lending on Headed Home Podcast where we talked about my journey from being a NICU nurse to becoming a real estate agent. It’s been an incredible transition, and I’m excited to share how my background in healthcare has shaped the way I serve my clients today.
Why I Made the Career Change
For years, I had the honor of caring for newborns and their families during some of the most challenging and emotional moments of their lives. It was a career built on trust, compassion, and attention to detail—qualities that I now bring into my work as a real estate agent. While nursing will always hold a special place in my heart, I found myself drawn to real estate as another way to guide people through major life transitions.
How My Nursing Background Helps Me in Real Estate
✔️ Strong Communication & Advocacy – Just like in the NICU, I ensure my clients feel heard, informed, and supported through every step of the home-buying or selling process.
✔️ Handling High-Stress Situations – Buying or selling a home can be emotional, but my experience in a fast-paced medical environment has taught me how to stay calm under pressure and problem-solve effectively.
✔️ Attention to Detail – Whether it’s a medical chart or a real estate contract, precision matters. I make sure my clients fully understand every detail before making decisions.
✔️ Empathy & Care – Just as I supported families in the NICU, I now guide my clients through one of the biggest financial and emotional investments of their lives.
